Pine Plains Free Library

Help us Celebrate! The Pine Plains Free Library has been serving the Pine Plains community for 220 years! Please join us at our birthday events in October. Be sure to check out the Historical Society’s excellent exhibit on the history of the Pine Plains Free Library over the past 220 years, on display now at the library. Learn to “Tuck in Your Garden for Winter” on October 13th from 1:30-3pm at the Town Hall and see a hands on demonstration and tour of the Pine Plains Community Garden. Enjoy a walk through Pine Plains’ past with a night time Cemetery Lantern Tour October 20th from 6-7:30pm starting at The Pines and hosted by the Pine Plains Free Library, Historical Society and Stissing Guild. Local actors and musicians will take you back hundreds of years to relive historical events in Pine Plains by the light of lanterns. Then try to outbid your friends and neighbors on fabulous items at the Silent Auction at the Stissing House on October 27th, from 5-7pm. Enjoy refreshments as you bid on donations from our generous local businesses, artists, restaurants and private individuals. Items include an Apple iPad, a lake front vacation rental on Stissing Lake, French and Violin lessons, tickets to Music Mountain, a gift from Pine Plains Fine Wines and Spirits, a lovely gift basket from Hammertown Bar or add some beautiful works of art to your home for the holidays. We hope to see you there!
