The Durst Corporation came to Pine Plains on February 24th to give us a powerpoint on the new proposal for the Carvel Development. Highlights include land conservancy, an affordable housing fund, and the creation of numerous jobs in building and maintenance. Comments by the public are being accepted at email@example.com and will be included in a report to the Dursts which they will address at the next meeting on March 17th at 10:30am at the Community Center. SUMMER SEASONAL HELP WANTED
The Town of Pine Plains is accepting applications for Recreation Assistants, Lifeguards, Head Lifeguard, Assistant Camp Director, Camp Counselors and a Swim Instructor with WSI certification. Applications and a copy of the job descriptions are available at the Town Hall or on our website at www.pineplainsny.org. Completed applications may be dropped off at the Town Hall or mailed to Pine Plains Recreation Dept., Town of Pine Plains, P.O. Box 955, Pine Plains, NY 12567. Deadline for applications is March 30, 2018.
There will be 2 meetings with Durst Project representatives and town attorney Warren Replansky on February 24th 10am-12pm and March 17th 10:30am-12:30pm at the Community Center. The February meeting will be a presentation on the Project. Comments and questions that result from that meeting will be addressed at the March meeting.
The regular monthly meeting at Town Hall, on Thursday, January 18th, included a reorganization meeting. We now have two new Town Board members, Rory Chase and Matt Zick. They join continuing members, Sarah Jones and Don Bartles. We also have a new Town Supervisor, Darrah Cloud. She was elected chairperson of the Town Board at the reorganization meeting.
