Hiking for Beginners
February 27, 2020 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Hiking is wonderful way to stay fit and enjoy the beauty of nature. All you need is proper equipment, shoes and clothes. This program will give information about how to stay warm and comfortable outdoors, hiking tips, what gear you will need, where to hike, and information about hiking groups in the area.
Examples of hiking equipment and apparel recommended for hiking and snowshoeing will be on display. The session will also cover how to select hikes suitable for your abilities, an introduction to trail maps, and books and resources available at your local library on the subject.
Questions will be encouraged. This lecture is free & open to all. Presented by Eric Harvey on behalf of the Adirondack Mountain Club.
