Hazardous waste

Fourth Annual Dutchess County Clean-out for Hazardous materials

The collection event to facilitate disposal of hazardous materials for Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators (CESQG) is being held on Friday, June 21, 2019.  If you meet the requirements of a CESQG you can get rid of hazardous chemicals, oil based paint, pesticides, mercury, fluorescent bulbs, and more, in a cost effective and environmentally sound manner.  By taking part in this event you can save on disposal costs as you can bring your own materials and do not have to pay a hazardous waste company to go to your location using their permitted hazardous waste vehicle.  Also, due to the economies of scale because of the number of generators participating in the event, this is the most cost effective way to dispose of hazardous materials.

Who are considered small quantity generators?
-Non-residential generators that generate less than 220 lbs or approximately 26 gallons of non-acute hazardous waste per month, and
-Generate no more than 2.2 lbs. of acute hazardous waste per month.

Collection will be held at 96 Sand Dock Rd. Pougkeepsie, NY.
