Message from Highway Superintendent, Heather Emerich
AS OF 3.20.2020, ALL HIGHWAY PERSONNEL ARE SHELTERING IN PLACE UNLESS CALLED IN FOR EMERGENCIES. WATCH THE WEATHER AND BE ASSURED THAT SHOULD IT SNOW, THEY WILL BE OUT WITH SALT, SAND AND PLOWS!
The time has come…….the beginning of Spring cleanup 🙂 The crews will be out cleaning up shoulders from the snowplows and sweeping throughout the center of Town. Our contractor will be coming in (weather permitting) Tuesday, April 7th and Wednesday, April 8th to collect the sweepings from the edges of the town owned roads throughout the center of Town only. Now is this time for residents located throughout the center of Town to rake road materials left over, SAND ONLY(no grass clippings, brush or leaves) from their sections of lawn located at the road edge onto the edges of the pavement in a shallow layer so that the sweeper may remove them. Please DO NOT rake any materials to the road edge after April 1st. Although our efforts will be primarily focused in the center of Town, we have not forgotten about our more rural residents. We will be there just as soon as this phase of cleanup has been completed.
Please keep a watchful eye out for the crew and give them the space they need to safely complete these tasks. Please remember when approaching a work zone to slow down and be aware. Thank you!
